In the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Residency Program, trainees will see a variety of clinical problems, many of which are still best sorted out by a complete history and physical examination.
When on service, trainees are guaranteed to frequently see infectious diseases they have never seen before or new presentations or complications of infections that they have seen many times before. Because infectious diseases cross-reacts with all other sub-specialties, trainees will continue to make use of the knowledge acquired during their pediatric residency. Infectious diseases training lends itself well to any combination of clinical, administrative, research and teaching roles at the completion of training.
