Biomedical Engineering (BME) is, among other things, the application of design, thermo-fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, and material concepts to:
developing new equipment such as surgical , emergency, and diagnostic tools, short/long term treatment or rehabilitation equipment for people or veterinary purposes;
improve the state of our health care system; and,
to generally better understand what makes us tick in order to improve our quality of life.
