The aim of the four-year MD program is to produce an ‘undifferentiated general physician’ who has a good understanding of the theory and practice of modern medicine, and who is ready to advance to the next step of their medical career by entering into supervised practice as a post-graduate trainee.
With specific reference to the discipline of surgery, our aim is that graduating students understand the general principles that underlie surgical practice, and comprehend the role of surgery in the treatment of disease.
