Normally, a four-year BA degree (honors degree preferred) majoring in Sociology, or the equivalent, is required. The course-based MA program involves an intensive twelve to eighteen months of study.
Applicants must have previously completed coursework in statistics (SOC 210), research methodology (SOC 315), and two sociological theory courses (two of SOC 212, 332, 333, and 334), or their equivalents, and at least one single-term course in macrosociology and in social psychology (broadly defined to include related coursework).
